Full Gallop Inaugural USEA Event
Friday, 24 February 2006
On February 15th 2006 Full Gallop Farm SC hosted its inaugural USEA Event. With some top ranked riders like Phillip Dutton entered it was certainly looking like a successful event. But as we know success comes in many forms and we are lucky enough to hear about the event courtesy of Liz Heiden aboard Poetic Justice from Auburn Georgia.

Neither Punxsutawney Phil’s bleak winter outlook nor a fractured elbow could keep this competitor and her steady steed from competing in the first USEA recognized event at Full Gallop Farm. After an uneventful early morning drive, we pulled into the farm. There, we were greeted by the first of many friendly and helpful volunteers. Once my mare was settled I ambled off to check in and check things out. The show office was easily found and signing in was equally simple. It was then off to do two quick walks of cross country before getting ready for dressage. On the return walk back to the trailer I had to pause for a moment to watch the top two riders in the nation last year (Phillip Dutton and Kim Severson) jump clean stadium rounds. OK now that I had a visual image of how it was done it was off to tack up for dressage.

Finally after years of freezing temperatures the Adult Rider Clinic in Florida was blessed with beautiful sunshine. The usual suspects and a few new faces joined together for a fun filled long weekend at the fantastic Rocking Horse Stables in Alatoona Florida. I think I speak for everyone involved when I say that this really was one of the best Adult Rider Clinics we have done in recent times.

Heather Lindell teamed with Image's Cherokee for a 6th place at the recent Pine Top Winter Horse Trials on February 4th & 5th. Anyone there probably remembers the weather firstly. Though as you might recall and you can read below every cloud has a silver lining, its not always about what color ribbon you take home, if you do at all.

Team Cherry at Pine Top Farm February 2006

Team Cherry improved their ride from the last horse trial at Pine Top. Saturday started with dressage in the morning. Actually, the morning started with a bit of a monsoon that thankfully passed. It put the dressage rides about an hour behind and brought a very chilly wind.

Pine Top Volunteers wanted
Wednesday, 08 February 2006

We all know a lot of this sport is so great because we have great volunteers. Well here is your chance to help. Pine Top are in need of volunteers. They will be offering Intermediate and Advanced at their March 4th -5th show so it is a great opportunity to get out and see your favorite riders.   They need jump judges for cross country and scribes for dressage.  So far, dressage is on Saturday, but they usually add Friday dressage as well if entries warrant.  So if you can scribe Fri and/or Sat please include the day(s) in your email.

The current executive committee and board of directors recently voted to cancel future shows after the completion of this years event on March 10-12th. This decision was soon after requested to be rescinded when local resident Colin Phipps stepped in with a promise to try and keep it going.
