Chatt. Hills anyone? - 2008/08/10 00:35 I am going to my first recognized HT at Chattahoochee Hills in September and I was dismayed to hear that you can't school their compeitition course. I was wondering if anyone who has shown there could tell me what it is like? I am going BN and can be timid

I did the BN at Chatt Hills in May and thought it a very fair course, you have to ride, but it's fair. I personally had a few baubles, but would not hesitate to do it again. I would do their September USEA but decided to go to Fort Rucker, AL instead. I am planning on their schooling show weekend in October.

It is my understanding that they aren't going to allow the competition course open to schooling but that they are going to have a separate schooling venue.

Just ride every fence, make sure their attention is on the fence and enjoy it. It's a beautiful course. Walk it several times to make sure you have it down pat.

Re:Chatt. Hills anyone? - 2008/08/13 16:12 Thanks for the advice but I have decided to withdraw. We went to school there yesterday and my horse refused the same jump for 2 hours. Then we were asked to leave by Richard Temple. It was simply a disaster and my horse obviously doesn't enjoy eventing (I have had this feeling for awhile, it's not just from this episode) so I am going to sell her as a broodmare so she will be happy

I loved the course but Richard kind of had an attitude with me and he said he would be on course with me but instead he simply left and then returned and told me my horse looked tired and I needed to leave

Before I bought her she was a broodmare and she enjoyed just hanging out in the pasture. This is why I want to sell her as a broodmare so she can be happy because she obviously is not happy doing what she is doing now.

This is not a rash decision however, I have been toying with the idea for awhile, this simply confirmed that she does NOT want to do this. To answer your question of what happened before this, she kicks in her stall when she is at shows and is VERY sour. There have been similar episodes where she has showed she does not want to have anything to do with showing. She also is very inconsistent with her trailer loading and will only load when she feels like it. If I do not find her the absolute perfect home I will simply keep her as a pasture buddy. I will not just throw her away and get rid of her.

(and I have had her vet checked like a million times and there is nothing physically wrong with her)
