St Jude Benefit Trail Ride Print E-mail
Wednesday, 10 October 2007

It's approaching November, and the organizers of the annual benefit trail ride for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to be held at McIntosh Reserve Park, Whitesburg, GA need your help.  The date is Saturday, November 10th, with registration at 9:30 AM and the ride starting at 10:00 AM.

Last year’s dark skies and threat of  heavy rain definitely  put a “damper” on the turnout,  so we need an extra strong response this year.  It’s always a lovely place to ride, and it’s great seeing other horse friends and meeting new ones!  And, as usual, St. Jude provides many prize items with the newest Saddle Up logo.  If you just can’t fit the ride into your schedule, they would CERTAINLY  accept your donation check and send you the appropriate participation prize!. In addition, there will be several prizes given for riders who collect and turn in the most money for this very worthy cause!

Most of you are already aware that St. Jude  has had phenomenal success in researching and developing treatments and cures for devastating  children's diseases, many of which are forms of cancer.  They share their research with anyone in the world who requests it.  This is definitely not the case with for-profit hospitals, clinics, and drug companies.

St. Jude accepts children from all over the US and around the world, regardless of ability to pay.  Families with no medical insurance are never asked to come up with the money to cover treatment. St. Jude's continued success relies on donations from the public and matching gifts from corporations.  There are a variety of events around the country designed to raise funds for the hospital and research program, but Saddle Up for St. Jude has been one of the most successful!

Thanks again for your help, and hope to see you on the 10th!
