The end of the Eventing season in Georgia is always marked by the Thanksgiving Pine Top Horse Trials and this year is no exception. By the time riders hit the dressage rings early the rain had soaked everything there was to see and some. That didnt stop many riders posting great scores though. In JR YR Training for instance there is a tie for the lead with Alison Thomson on Krockraha and Hailey Hughes on Tommy Two both having clear stadium rounds and go to CC tomorrow on their dressage score of 32.1 In Training Rider Melissa McMaster on Flagmounts Star leads on 34.2 and Lauren McDowell leads Open Training with a 28.9 on On the Button.
In JR YR Prelim Lizzie Snow leads with a great 27.1 on Sloopy after a clear stadium round and Mike Winter leads Prelim Horse on Raku with a day low score of 25.0 Open Prelim is lead by Lynn Coates-Holmes on Pistolero with a 29.2 and a clear stadium round. In fact all top six division leaders went through the rather soupy stadium course without penalty. A testament to their and good work and that of their horses as well as that consistent footing here at Pine Top. Sunday sees the CC start at 9.00am with more heavy rain forecast after midnight. So another day for the brave and those with great raincoats and umbrellas. Look for a final report and photos from CC after the event.
